Wish I had better quality photos of my work. I need to find a photography studio around here than I can use for free... EDIT: I think I've made a great improvement (or series of them). www.pat-oneill.com Definitely spicier and more interesting visually. Last edited by pgo : 21-06-2006 at 00:26. |

not much of an improvement really, sorry. Don't like those new roll-overs on the nav, liked the solid white one someone did. Also, though the banner's heading in the right direction, i'm pretty sure it needs a burst of colour, not a variation on your current colour scheme. Wouldn't call that jazz so far. and the "pat o'neil" "web designer...." and "about me" font really grates with me. A bit too angular. Just my thoughts. |

I did, however, agree with adras that the orange bar beneath the banners had to go. Also changed a few other things. I'm pretty much satisfied with it. All that's left is to get better photos of drawings... Thanks again for all your comments! It's about as spicy as it's going to get - my aesthetic isn't very spicy it seems. Dear Swollen, Still think it needs jizzing up. But if you like it that's okay. How's this for an idea? Keep the site as is but try doing it again privately in the most artisitically outlandish way you can think of. Just to stretch the creative muscle. Would love to see it. Regards Shrivelled. |

I dont understand the link between your strap line content and header images - You're a web developer / designer - the portfolio suggests web design, and the header images imply fine art. I think the whole concept is a bit uncertain of itself. I like the design but without a stronger idea I think it's going to get lost in the ether. To be honest I think both your previous sites - 'pats paints' and 'stick & ink' are stronger conceptually and visually. The question is what do you hope to achive with this? Is it what you will be showing prospective clients? Or do you hope to capture the long tail? Either way I think your entering this without a game plan. Correct me if I'm completely off the scent. |

For the time being, I'm not actively seeking freelance work, so I'm actively showing it to prospective clients. I'm surpised to hear you say that about patpaints.com because it has virtually no concept and very little thought behind it. Anyway, thanks for your input as always. You too Zaigham...I've seen that avatar somewhere before I think. |

I really like the work, although I think you are conservative on size. I am curious as to what CSS u used on the rollovers for the navigation, could you please enlighten me, I really like that feature. I am color blind, but your shades look very pleasing to me, and I like the use of shadows around the borders... although you did it the same way I did for my first design which I thought was a stupid solution, so I feel a little better about myself after seeing someone more proficeient do the same. |
