new mockups

for a new site i'm doing. it's for a theatre/movie director

the only thing i'm not sure about is the placing of the name at the top with white b/g - that's gonna change.

so yeah, just curious about your comments

the second one is just a quick idea. and the bg has a pattern, but jpg'ing it would make the filesize too big

Hey! the compression on the jpg doesn't really help things but in my opinion...

the layout seems poorly balanced, the photo used in the header seems a strange choice and takes up too much space without any 'real' purpose i.e. its not really adding much to the overall design. the main content doesn't really seem likes its actually been positioned / aligned. I think the name at the top with the white background looks ok though so personally, i would try and concentrate on the rest of the page.... but i would definately reduce the size of that header.

Apologies if that sounds harsh... friday afternoon and all.

not harsh at all

(btw, that second design has been adjust a lot)

i somewhat agree with what you said about the header. problem is i have very little source material. this is the best suited for the project imo. i even think the darkness and mistery suits the black & red design. it's big yeah, but cropping it made the image being out of balance.

i can see the alignment thing ( i did align it), but because the content was c&p just as an example, i think with real content, the page would be filled up more nicely. (wider)

anyway

new one

i guess my 2 cents would be that the blood red on top of dark grey makes me yawn...some contrast would really make it more exciting.

the alignment: left or center? make up your mind!!!

other than that, i really agree with fake french's comments.
