Critique my first website

Hi. I created my first website a few months ago (with alot of help from you guys and the "Help me" forum!). Anyway, I think I'm finally ready to hear some constructive criticism about it. I'm definitely open to any suggestions on how I can improve it.

My website is: http://www.1000daysonline.com

Any comments are welcome,
Thanks alot.

The background is pretty busy, I have a hard time focusing on anything else. Otherwise it's a good first site.

How about using a form to handle the contacting? it's not hard, and people will be quicker to reply. what kind of editor are you using? I agree with stmedia. The bg could do with a change

I remember not liking the header typeface papyrus or whatever it is. It still doesn't make sense.

Haha. You guys have excellent memories. I got rid of the papyrus mostly because there aren't many people who could see it and I didnt want to go and make images for the text.

Not alot has changed since then, but I don't think I ever posted my website in the "Showcase" before. I guess since its been awhile I just want some suggestions on how to improve or what to do better next time.

Thanks

Yeah, I have definetely considered that. I've tried to make the "email list" thing into a form that would automatically send but I haven't been able to do that correctly.

I'm using Dreamweaver by the way.

You can download form to e-mail scripts off the web - are you on an apache server - if so ping tit and see if your host supports php - php forms are simple and are easy to undersand/edit.

Really hate your header text - it makes you look like you have very little experience - you could have used comic sans for that.

...I dont get the robot/grass combo...

The background is way too over powering. I would reconsider how important it is, because at the moment it is very distracting.

Thanks, I will look into a e-mail script. I'm not sure if I'm on a apache server.

I've tried alot of different fonts for the top banner and stuck with this. Do you have any suggestions of what might look good?

As for the robot/grass, I just think it looks cool.

I get the hint! I don't know if you all remember but there used to be alot of papyrus text before, I removed all of it except on the banner. Any suggestions of what might look good there? I don't want to just put "1000 Days" in Arial.

Maybe I could put a logo there. I don't think I have the skills to make a decent logo myself. Does anyone around this forum create logos?

There are other fonts than just Arial and Papyrus you know. Play about with some others.
