Portfolio design

Hi guys. I've been working a couple of hours with this 3d portfolio design. Never made an portfolio before, and never completed a web design idea. It's only made in photoshop, and i cant wait to slice this thing , but before that, i want some critique and comments so that i can make this better.

Splash screens are bad news. Don't do it - it's just another useless, redundant thing blocking the path to your portfolio.

Imagine walking into a Wal-Mart and having to stop at the door and watch a Wal-Mart commercial before you enter the store to spend money.

It's advertising for something someone's already bought.

I don't think that's true. Yet.

However, he's right, it should be coded in a more modern way (XHTML/CSS) instead of letting Dreamweaver write a bunch of tables.

Otherwise I've got no real complaints - except lack of content.

Nice design. Hope you see the light that is CSS, but no worries.

tell u the truth the work seems a lot better than the portfolio. Not really a fan of the splash page and on some moinotors it will show up too dark. The site is a little bland. Personally i like clean minimalistik sites for portfolios but this one just doesn't seem to have a theme or inspiration behind it.

Actually i like it better on the actual site than the comps but still its meh. I like the menu and the colours though.

Agreed. Nice design work. When I viewed it, I did wait for a few rows of cells to load, and it made me curious so I checked the code. Anyhow, you've got a good design. You would do quite well to learn CSS and XHTML. I guarantee you'll get addicted.

Well, i've actually started learning css

Here's the new page http://www.fakey.no/ not finished, cause i can't do css. So while i'm learning css, i'm building this page, so it could take some time.
