Reminds me of the design museum. Terrible is a bit harsh, but seems a bit of a strange choice for a pub?

Dear god man I certainly hope their pub food isn't going to be as bland as that logo, especially if that’s gonna be their new logo!

I wouldn't eat there just for the sure lame-ness of that logo, sorry.

Where are the elements of creative thought?

First of all, all I see is three condiment containers which I would far more associate with a restaurant chain or a 'diner' as it were not particularly a pub that serves food and any-way most pub's have those sachets of sauce/condiments rather than the traditional s and p pots and ketchup bottle, but I suppose this could be linked specifically to the pubs styling but having said that obviously I don’t know the pub well enough to comment on this.

Could you not inject some life into the image, if you are set on using the theory of food aka ... condiments for dinning why not try implementing the shapes of these into the actual wording itself or trying something bit less obvious.

Anyway I hope my criticism hasn’t offended you too much.

I think its better that somebody is honest about it rather than praising it, it just needs more work with thought.

The Old Ale House conjures for me an image of mash with sausages sticking out (like in comics)and a flagon of beer? Good old fashioned food.

Shoot me down and be damned!

Most pubs do traditional food like that yer, unless they are trying to be ultra cool trendy winebars pmsl ...

Please don't put that design forward. 'The old ale house' brings to mind images of traditional british fare, 'home' style cooking and hearty good food. This just look's like it should belong on a grease-spoon cafe menu.

Thought I should add why I chose to do the logo this way.

It is not what you would call a "foodie" pub; they serve sandwiches and baguettes at lunchtime. and this was only going to be the header on the menu, not the identity for the whole pub. It has to be black and white, although I take the point that it doesn't really say the "old ale house" as it is.

I was basically trying to say "simple food"; obviously it does not do this so as i said before a lot to work on...

thanks again

You could give it to some kids along with some crayola's while they are waiting for their dinner to arrive in the pub?

Good symbols for a cafe but at the very least, the font doesn't say old it says modern and minimal.
