A marble?

I personally don't like these things, though it seems conpitant in it's execution. Is it just being used on screen or has it got to be used across a range of media? in which case you may hit some problems.

Well it's not really meant to be a marble but if you say so...

Probably just onscreen - I just use my spiral for printed media.

the top highlight is too harsh, makes it look bevelled rather than spherical imho

He's right. The shadow would be refracted through the glass. I think it would look pretty cool if you ditched the shadow all together.

Made lighting more subtle and removed shadow. Does it 'work' yet?

It works for me apart from the fact that it isn't centred properly with the type. It's off to the left a bit.

Cheers. I hadn't aligned text etc at the time. Was just looking for crits on the orb-spiral thing.

Any more comments? Do you think having this on screen media and just the spiral on print would work for vranding purposes?

Was playing FarCry the other day and it struck me the Ubisoft logo was pretty similar to yours.

Calm down FFS! I'm not suggesting he's ripped it off. The simiarity is in the round icon with the swirl inside.

How??? It's round (shock horror!) whcih is similar but that's it. Definitely not used as inspiration.

By that question I assume you want me to say what it's supposed to show, right?

Background: The logo evolved from spiramedia - the old name for aspira. The spiral motif has stuck as I think it's pretty nice. My current logo can be seen here for comparison: http://www.aspiramedia.com/

Now: The new version hopefully echoes class and glossy slickness. Is that enough detail? That the angle you were looking for? There's nothing really deeper than that - nothing like "the glass orb encapsulates our philosophy whilst the spiral shows our flexibility." Sorry.

What does it say to you?

No need to be so touchy. I didn't accused you of ripping it off or anything. Just making an observation.

Am I the only one that can notice the similarity in concept here?
*Round logo* *Swirl Inside*.

Anyway, having looked at theirs I think yours would be stronger if you made the swirl larger within the orb.
