Advice if you would!

I'm not far off launching the tokyocube website, and the client has just requested that I try this new font for the logo, page hdrs and menus.

What do you guys think? Do you prefer the new font or the old font? My opinion is that the new font is pretty cool, but looks too bold for the website, where as the old font fits in much better with the layout:

With new font: http://www.tokyocube.com/new/

Old version: http://www.tokyocube.com/development/

Let us know what you think!

Thanks people

i really like the new one... very nice! good work... however, i'm thinking keep the new font except for the line HOME LIFESTYLE DIRECTORY SERVICES... i think maybe this one line would be better suited with the old font...

anyway, love the design...

I have to say, I prefer the first one. I'm a sucker for straight-forward type.

I won't really complain about the new one, though. It's fine.

I'm with the first one, looked much better, I'm not feeling the new font - should have done a poll

hmm, just as I suspected. I suppose its really just on personal taste. As the client in this case is my girlfriend, I kinda have to go with the new one now as she loves it. Just wanted to see what you guys thought as I became pretty attached to the straight forward blockiness of the old set up.

The new font does seem to work nicer for the logo though (cube and name together on the homepage), and fits better with the character of the cube. What do you guys think on that?

Anyway, anymore comments from other people would be great too!

Hope you guys will come and check out the site when its launched.... we're hoping to go live in a couple weeks, once the content has been added and the cube is animated.

Cheers!

I'm afraid I dont dont agree... to me the old fonts simplicity /form of line/lack of detail - marries perfectly with the simple lines of the logo. Plus it sits better with the content.
But it really doesnt matter too much. The new one isnt bad and as long as your 'client' is happy then thats good enough

the old one, with out doubt. The typeface on the new one is really terrible for the tone of the site.

The 'C' on the new one really lets it down.

yeh, I'm in agreement I think with you guys on this one. Its a shame, as I really like the new font and with the logo on it's own it looks really nice, but with the site it does look alittle untidy and not so suitable.

Anyway, I think I can perhaps persuade this client to stick with the original. I just wanted to see what other people thought, as thats the most important thing to me - how other people like the site!

Cheers guys!
