Advice Please...
Hi! What do you think about this design: http://www.dynamicpage.com/CLIENT_SI.../homepage3.htm It's a 2 company splash page. I hate splash pages, and think that 2 companies need two different sites, but that's what the client wanted... Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

How's this: http://www.dynamicpage.com/CLIENT_SI.../homepage5.htm I know...It's got some jagged lines...working on that. Do you like that size and perspective better? We are stuck with the logo font, yes I know...very American and boring, but that is our target market. We can change the "land development & property mgt" font... Not sure what to make it though... would you keep it in the same TIMES font as the logo? Please advise. Thanks! |

Thanks for tips! I don't have Illustrator. Can you do it in Photoshop? And yes...I guess the blonde guy does look a bit crazy, I've had more than 1 person tell me that. But OMG, the stock photography for the construction industry is so horrid. Either it looks like 1986, or it's women on the construction site, neither which will work for this client. Hmmm... I'm still looking though. As far as the gill sans font goes, I guess I should stick with Times, maybe since their logo is a "Times-Like" font.... THanks! |

I will say, it's looking better. The way I take out figures like that is drawing a rough line with the magnetic or polygonal lasso tool, then use the selection mask and paint brush for fine tuning the edges. Voila. Works like a charm. |

Thanks for tips! I got a better clip this time: http://www.dynamicpage.com/CLIENT_SI.../homepage6.htm And I changed the font, and font color. Also, about the psychopath guy with the beady eyes... I went in and painted some more blue on his pupils just a few pixels to make him a little less frightening.. Also, he needed some pressed powder on his cheeks. That way he looks a little less sweaty. I hope they like this!! THANKS! |

Well...hmmmmm...there's nothing I can do about the type. It's their logo, so I have to use it. But I guess I could take the bullets off if they are bothering you. Hmmm...what else? Why do you think the layout is "poor"? I'm not sure what else to do considering the subject, audience and requirements. |

you got the two dudes down, but the blond guy kinda scares me... the 4 pics with the two lines of text just don't feel right to me... try playing around with the pics, maybe a little more creative layout (maybe overlapping, slightly skewed, or something) and definately change the font and bullets... that's my 2 cents... |
