Hope you like flash!

Well i didnt have much lucky showing you lot my last website for the pets lol, so what do you think of this one! totally different

Its my flashy futuristic 3D portfolio, most people say they love it, but I bet you lot will still find ways to rip the shit outa it.

www.wipeout44.com

Maybe a bit heavy on the effects etc but I wanted it to make a kickass impression!

you definitely have skills man, but i wouldn't go that way for my portfolio. some people will deffo be impressed, but as narate says that approach to flash for flash's sake is a bit old fashioned, not futuristic

You have talent but you need to learn some restraint. That shit is more tacky than Blackpool illuminations!

Agreed there is some great flash / 3D work there but completely out of context for a portfolio site.
  1. Liked the dimishing circles then site name, after that got bored.
  2. Put the fly flash stuff in a showreel.
  3. looks way tacky and dated. the last time I saw a site like this snickers was still called marathon.
Going to give this a 'shows promise, but must try harder'

That girl's scary. Well done. Lots of skill, too bad it's wasted.

What they said. Nicely executed, tacky datedness. No offense, of course.

I'd drop the "spaceship" theme. It's not doing you any good.

To clarify on the pet site - it's not that people didn't like it, it's that it was A) a strange concept and B) the colors didn't seem to fit. But it was decently executed from a visual standpoint.

sorry but the words bit of a sad bastard/geek spring to mind. Is that site meant for clients? If so its well executed but poorly designed, why would somebody want to sit through an animation of a spaceship and a pic of a bird with blue hair to see somebody's design work? I hate saying this but in your case its true 'less is more'.

Agreed... the site itself wasnt bad just conceptualy bizarre. This site on the other hand didnt do anything for me but thats a personal opinion and I can understand that some would like it. I think you should ask yourself what type of people you wouldlike to be impressed (ie. potential employers, mates, others in the design community), after all your site should always be aimed to a target audience.

I get the impression from the pertfolio that you would have been happier and better suited making a short animated film (I mean that in a good way). It is flawed in the sense that you have gone overkill with effects which limits its appeal, a portfolio should (in my opinion) be a holder for your work - not the work itself

OH HELL YES!

I must see this movie at all costs!

I remember when I got into flash a few years ago I produced a ridiculous, over the top presentation that pulled out every cheap flash trick in the book. I had a 3D interface that flew you around when you clicked on shit. I had an introduction full of clever words and a flying logo that proved what an arrogent jerk I am. Instead of creating an impressive, useful portfolio, I created a technology demo for Flash and Swift3D.

Anyways, the site is pretty out hand, but you're a young guy and seem to have a good grasp on what makes Flash tick, so F-it.

Maybe because it's dated and unattractive. There's no reason to have a spaceship flying around on a website.
