New- Style My Site Web Design

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum with a new site and I have one year left of my degree. Check out my site and let me know what you think! I hope to build it up enough that in 12 months it will be ready to compete with all the other web designers out there! Vinny.

We understand the need to view an updated portfolio. We always update our featured websites with our latest projects. We encourage you to browse our portfolio to gather ideas on how you may want your web site to look. Some sample web sites were produced whilst one of our team was working for Nevis Systems Ltd.

Nav- u got flash installed? What browser?

The showcase randomly displays a sample website. hit the refresh and see a different site!
thats something to make clearer then!

Does anyone have good resources for getting started with video streaming?

extremely user unfriendly - whos going to bother refreshing a page 20 times to see your portfolio, they'll just think "sod this" and go to the next search result on google. After i couldnt find your portfolio (the most important part of your site), i just closed the page

The background is way too dark and it fucks with my eyes being all wavy!

I think the site is ok, but i would lighten the greys on the header bits tho..

It wasn’t designed to see my portfolio online, that’s why it only has a featured site and that’s why you can request a cd of my portfolio. But point taken, it is an important to see all the work.

Personally, I thought the strong dark grey BG was a good contrast to the red used.

Disappointing overall, no-one has anything good to say, but i appriciate the comments.

I don't think that you've done too badly considering you still have one year at uni left. You seem pretty well organised in what you want to have achieved by the time you graduate - that's more than alot of students!

Looks good - as in the appearance. Some usability issues.

Code is ugly - too ugly for someone purporting to provide SEO services (especially when your PR is 0).

Looks ok, but your little guy there doesn't look particularly flexible, innovative or experienced.

Also, as stealthcow said, I'd change the porfolio business. That's just not a good idea. IMHO.
