Splash Page for 2 company website
Hi! I'm stuck and I'm not sure what to do... Please give me your opinions about these 2 concept pages: http://dynamicpage.com/CLIENT_SITES/...front-v1-4.jpg http://dynamicpage.com/CLIENT_SITES/...od-back-v2.jpg This is for a land developer and property management company. I am not a big fan of the 2-in-1 website, but that is what they wanted. Thoughts on homepage: Can't read the logos, and they do not looked like clearly marked buttons. I'm not groovin on the color either. Please advise... On the backpage: Any comments on the tab buttons? I know they need to be redone, but I'm not sure what is wrong with them. Also...how can we make this design look more high-tech and contemporary? Any advise would be GREATLY appreciated!! |

Dont use tabs, just have a another menu item button, maybe with different text color, if they are on site1 have button to site2 and vice versa. Lose the left side image in the second mockup, and keep the nav menu bg white, leave that burgandy color for the font if you wish. and don't use that webding fonts for the bullets, if you must use bullets create a simple pixel arrow. the photos in the content area is way too big, and the font is too small. In the top nav don't make one item a two liner - stretch the buttons so that each nav item fits on one line, the buttons don't have to be the same width. Make the white lines divinding the top nav narrower (1 pix). And don't use verdana for the headings, try Arial. Cheers. |

OK! I will take your suggestions. I am not the artist on this project, I am the creative director - HA! I'm a programmer, and I'm working with a junior graphic artist. We've got several problems - 1) LOW budget, 2) inexperience, 3) can't find good stock photos, 4) have to mix stock with clients photos 5) boring subject. I'm not a fan of a 2-in-1 website with splash pages either...but that's what they want. Client also suggested the "TAB" buttons to toggle back and forth. These concept pages were hurting my eyes, and I didn't know why...now I've got somewhat of a clue. We will loose the wingdings, I agree that look is dated, simple arrows will look better. And we'll work on those tabs. Now for the color...Clients colors are maroon...ughhh...and he suggested earth tones, but I'm just not groovin on the beige. We'll have to rethink this. |
