Didnt really have that much creative input on the logo, they pretty much just wanted the old one re-made as the agency wouldnt hand it over after they paid or something, who knows.

I'm all for standards compliancy but I dislike web sites that look like they are standards compliant. It looks a bit too css-y...

You're the second person to mention that, is there anything sepcific that makes it look too CSS'y?

Perhaps it looks too organised with that grid structure?

Il get them font colours changed and the aliasing sorted too, cheers gray

Not up to your usual (excellent) standard and don't understand the need for the accessabilty (blind folk exepted) BS on a Golden Retriever 'Buying a Dog' website.

Aren't polaroids and paperclips considered cheesy yet? Haven't seen a real polaroid since I was 15!

I quite like it. It may seem a bit straightfoward, but it doesn't offend me at all. It's functional and clean. Just like dogs should be... perhaps inject a bit more fun. (not into the dogs tho)

ahh well, looks like its back to the drawing board.

In my defence though...I had a deadline of one afternoon with one photograph to use as a reference.

I blame the agency I got the job off.

Clean. But I don't feel the gradients and drop-shadows go well with the crisp nav. Plus the contrast between the nav and the actual text seems makes it hard to focus on the body text.

I quite like it. Yes its very CSS but so what... cleaniness is next to godliness. Agree about the gradients but I'd change the nav rather than the grads. Having that green colour does distract from the main content as well but I dont think you need to start from scratch - I think it will appeal to the type of people that this client would be expecting

I like it. I really like it looking CSS-ey - if there is such a thing. Most sites look disorganised and this is nicely laid out and simple. As the web should be.

Why not? Should be on every site. Are you saying visually impaired people shouldn't be able to buy dogs?

No. What does the word 'except' mean to you? Golden Retrievers are well known as guide dogs.

Why should it be on every site? I hate this new internet police movement that seems to be sprouting up.

Having looked at it again the site's grown on me a bit now.

Got the wrong end oof the stick there. I apologise. Thought you were saying that impaired users shouldn't need this kind of site.

Don't agree with that one. We need standards or the net just slips into chaos what with everyone designing sites in different ways. I'm not saying every site should look the same (far from it), just that there should be some rules that every site should comply to. I think that's another post though...
