And then click directions and it draws it on the map for you as well as giving you step-by-step. Marvelous. Streetmap.co.uk, mapquest.co.uk, multimap.co.uk - all better look out methinks! |

It is made in Ajax: check out the following: http://www.thebignoob.com/Blog/249/a...-antibacterial Cool stuff - Java for life. Great implications for this using flash as well. Might be how google is going to pull content our of flash for SEO in the future. :P |

no, rac.co.uk hasn't done this. That's map24.com (notice the little logo in the lower left corner). You can pay them to have that service on your site. The java version of Map24 is amazing. And yes, they've done this for a while now. Check out map24.com But Ajax is great anyway, i've seen a few more demonstrations. Check out live search at: http://www.1976design.com/blog/ You type in the search words, and as you type you already get the results. |

Its what is being termed "Ajax" but its not quite accurate as that implies XML (or at least XMLHttpRequest) is being used - whilst this is one way, I believe I read somewhere that Google Maps uses the alternative hidden IFRAME technique.
