it can take up to 1 month before you see any results, when did you add your url ?

do you have any server side settings, robot.txt etc... disabling certain search bots or other that could be causing an issue ?

does your site respect googles guidelines ? because if not, they may not be indexing it for reasons that are against their guidelines. (over use of hidden content considered spam, duplicate content for example)

Make sure you are updating regularly. One of the easiest ways to do this might be to start a blog. Post as often as you can while still making sure your content is original/creative, but keep it consistent. You won't be able to maintain a post per day for very long.

Also, join and post to social bookmarking pages like digg, stumbleupon, or delicious. Just get the word out.

Try getting a high PR website to link to you e.g via a blog post.

This is because blogs tend to be indexed faster and more regularly than a standard built website. If a link to your site appears on a blog entry (assuming the blogger hasn't disallowed bots like Googlebot to visit external sites) then Googlebot (Google's web bot which indexes everything) will visit your website and do what it needs to do to get you listed in Google.

Finding a blog entry on [www (dot) davidairey (dot) com] may be a good starting point. Remember to post useful comments and include the link to your website. The more blog postings you make, the better your chance of bein indexed quicker. The higher PR the blog entry page has the better because not only will it count as a method of gaining entry to Google's index, it'll also help your rankings once you get there for whatever specific content the website is going to be offering.

@teehoi: Haha. Nice One.

Exchange link with site that is already added to Google. That is the best way.

Also you can use addme.com or any other service like this

new sites are said to be in the 'sand box', google way to handling new spam blogs

give it some time for your blog to build authority and google to sort bad/good sites

patience is the keyword

I personally think it's actually quite easy to get indexed. Just submit your site to Google (do this only once). Then submit your site to a few indexed web directories & other search engines and you should have your site indexed in no time. Also, make sure you have a sitemap, which you can create just by searching for "sitemap generator" on Google.

I don't know if others use this exact method but it's what I do, and all my sites are indexed really well.

Just put up a link anywhere you can, let's say a bulletin board or a blog. You need only one.

Then just wait for around 1 to 2 months.

The best way to get your pages listed with Google is to create a Google site map. This is a simple xml file that you can create in a basic text editor - make sure you call the file sitemap.xml.

This is the site map I created for my website.

You then go into Google Webmaster Tools and submit the sitemap.

Your pages will be on Google within the day!

The Google bot may take a few weeks to visit your website and run through your site.

Sorry I could not post my sitemap code as I have not made enough posts to this site. Do a Google search and you should find the right format.
