Quick Tips
Hey all, Just a few quick and simple tips to help with SEO on your website 1. Use <h1> <h2> tags for page titles 2. Make your page titles unique to your MAIN content 3. Use <strong></strong> on your main keywords 4. Keep your content simple, remember little content to users is much easier to read, people preffer to read a few lines than a few pages. 5. Meta tags, Titles, Keywords etc All are useful, for example... search "Brake Parts" in google, brakeparts.co.uk comes first? have a look at the title and description, these are telling our customers what we do and what we supply, the products in the title are our best sellers! 6. Its always a bonus for SEO if your page is designed in CSS/HTML, Flash components to be kept minimalistic (ie. Banner, Advertisments) Buttons must NOT be Flash. 7. Another good tip is to have your page extensions with keywords (ie, Logo_design.html - even subdomains logodesign.domain.com) 8. Dont forget ALT tags on images and href links! Describe EVERYTHING Useful link - w3.org Thanks for reading |

i think you'll find your domain name is probably one of the strongest reasons why you come up using an identical search term. certainly far, far, far above the relevance of meta tags. fuck signatures

Underscores are terrible for SEO, use hyphens instead. You're actually better off with no break rather than using an underscore. Google treats the underscore as a regular character so placing it between two words has them count as one single word with an _ as part of the word. Searching designers_talk for example would look for that exact phrase and would only bring back results containing "designers_talk" as an exact match whereas designers-talk would look for both words. This of course works in both directions so when your pages are indexed, if you use an underscore that will not count as the two keywords you were hoping to optimize for. |
