competior stealing name

I recently found out that I client who site I optimize and work on, is being used in a competitors ad words campaign.

let say I work for company 1, well when you search "company 1" the sponsored links show up with the company 2’s link at the top, however with "company 1" as the title!?

I spoke to this other company who didn't seem keen to change, unless it was illegal.

my question being... is it illegal and does anyone know what action I can take.

ta mooch

I think if these are Google adwords they would take a dim view of the use of anothers name in the title. They have strict rules.

don't think there's anything illegal with it, mate ...

if its relevant to theri site as well as to your then its ok ...
if its just spammy content which has no bearing on what they do, you can report it as spamming to google (or whoever) and tell tham you think its a spam trick ... see if they will remove it ... ?

or you can letter bomb their offices

and if you're talking about sponsored links .. then its amazing what people will bid for ... almost any term at all .... ebay do it all the time .... type in any word and there's a good chance of an ebay link using that word "find dog shit in a bag on ebay"

You can't do anything unless they are sponsored ads.
