Update in progress now. First time since April.

One of my sites has moved up - the rest even so far. One new site ranked, one hasn't. Looks to be fluctuating (youtube at PR3?)

Sweet! did a quick check and my business site is up to a 5 (from a 4) and two of my personal sites jumped to 4 (from 2 and 0). The rest have stayed the same, but they are not complete yet so I'm not worried about those.

Doesn't make any difference anyway - SERPS is where it counts unless you're are a link buyer.

Our business site went down from PR5 to 4.

But my blog page that i just made last month, from PR0 to PR3.

soo... i don't know what's the real score?

I got a drop of a point, i am now with PR-6 , but i don't care much about it now

what i concentrate on is getting top in SERP.

How do you find out ranking?? I'm new at this stuff.. forgive my lack of knowledge. I googled our company and its at the bottom of the page for search results. Would this be the rank??

You might be talking of SERP or Search Engine Results Page. It is where sites are listed when you search keywords at various search engine. It is also called as the Actual Page Rank of sites.

The Page Rank 0-10 that we are talking is what we call Displayed PR.

Use PageRank Checker - Check Your Google Page Rank for your site's Displayed Page Rank. Or use google's toolbar. You can download the toolbar free.

apparently our site has a page ranking of 1.. which is very bad right? where can i go to learn more about ranking, and improving ranking status? we just launched our site in august so its still new, and being slowly updated..

While we all enjoy having good PR it doesn't really DO anything. So don't spend a lot of time thinking about it. Spend time on your SEO efforts and the PR will come along with it. Also PR gets updated very irregularly, maybe a few times a year.

my site is currently at PR4. no idea why or how. i don't really update it that much nor do i think its widely linked in any way and thus would have expected PR 0 or 1. *shrug*

To not start an extra thread I will just ask here. If the higher the page rank on a website will it show up before other websites with lower ranks on the search results?
Also does Yahoo has its own page rank system? Or its a bit different apart from Google and it just shows relevant results?
What are the main things to do to improve rank? (other then a lot of good content)
