Google Advertising Professionals Program
https://adwords.google.com/select/professionalwelcome Anybody done anything with this? Just spotted it. Not sure if it is new? Only had a brief skim over, but there seems to be two options: Qualified Individual or Qualified Company. Not weighed up the pros/cons, but a requirement for the individual: "Build and maintain at least US$1,000 (or your local currency equivalent) total spend for your or your team's My Client Centre account during the 90-day period" whilst the company: "Build and maintain at least US$100,000. (or your local currency equivalent) total spend per quarter for the company's My Client Centre account" We aren't going to make the limit for the company. As an individual, could I manage accounts on behalf of my workplace, but take the "Qualified Individual" status with me? The exam is $50, I'd pay that outta my pocket. |

It's not all that new. I became an Adwords Professional a couple of months ago. We have a company account but took the individual exam. On passing they provide a few $50 adwords credits to use on your accounts which is nice and you can use to attract more clients. With regard to taking the qualification with you, I was a little annoyed with the way this is handled. Basically I can't take mine with me. This is because my company had their own existing Adwords account and I was simply a user of that. If you were to open your own personal Adwords account in your own name, and run the Adwords campaign through that, your Professional status will be with you forever more. For understandable reasons my company wishes their ads to be conducted through their own account. |
