geotargetted results..
Does anyone know if I wanted to register a domain in another country to promote the fact that the company operate in that zone, can I duplicate content without getting banned? for example I currently have www.exampledomain.com If I want to appear in the results for google in Ireland I need to have www.exampledomain.ie - This assuming that someone clicks the "show results in Ireland" button - which is probably quite common to eradicate american pages In addition to this the preferred ISP in Ireland is eircom.net - which has a google search built into it - problem is it shows results from Ireland by default! I think im probably missing out on quite a bit of traffic cause of this. We originally went for a .com address cause we operate in GB too. Now - question is assuming I start promoting the .ie address how do I get it to appear with the other ie results if there aint no content behind it - for example if I just submit the ie domain to google for inclusion and its a redirect type of domain. Can I therefore duplicate the content to give the spider some food? Im not sure if theres any way around this - would having a server located in Ireland make google think we are also in Ireland>? |
