Haha I wish. But that website was in no way optimised for search engines because that meant content compromises that I am not willing to make on my websites, and it hardly appears in stats. It was just a bit of an experiment.

But still, it's two bucks even so. I imagine oli's really rich

EDIT: On re-reading stickmus's question I realise my contribution has no value whatsoever

You might want to read this thread stickmus.

Did quite a bit of google adword stuff last year, and the only thing they showed me was how quickly your budget getting eaten away. It certainly ain't cheap.
I meet a girl who does the adwords for a large car insurance company. they spend £1m p/m and get a 1% conversion rate!!!! ouch! why do you think google are sssssooooooooooooooo very rich!

For finding new clients I doubt they'd have much impact - I imagine the keywords you'd need would be very competitive and thus prohibitively expensive. Better to learn exactly how online marketing works (from sourcing potential advertising spaces to statistical analysis and so on) and offer that as yet another service to your existing and future clients, thus making you a more attractive proposition.

Also, pgo&emil - you're thinking of adsense, not adwords

i use adwords to advertise my photography business - get a couple of clicks a day from them which equates to a click through rate of 1.6%. Woo. A great way to eat up money, but it does bring in a few punters.

make your keywords as specific as possible, ie :
rather than bidding on "web design" , bid on "web design in manchester" etc etc. The cost per click will be lower and your visitors will be more targetted.
