What makes a great band website?
Hey everyone! The company I work for are doing some research for a thesis on "What elements make a perfect band website" If you have a free 30 seconds, I would really appreciate it if you could give me your opinions/suggestions on this matter. A few examples are things such as video blogs and free mp3's. The more detail, the better! Also, if there are any examples of band websites that you visit reguarly, please post them and a reason why! Thank you. [Also, I am new here and look forward to getting involved with the designers talk community] |

Direct links to amazon or similar to buy their album. NO music playing over the site - a choice to stream their songs would be good, though. An 'if you like us, you'll like these guys' page with recommendations to other bands of a similar sound/style. An updated list of upcoming gigs. A community forum for fans. |

A selection of streaming songs and videos always keeps me on a band's site. A real deal breaker for me is unnecessary splash pages. I just visited a band site that had four splash pages, all with just an image and an enter link. And of course it all has to be stylishly presented. |
