Okay - I'm curious about this.

I've been looking around MySpace and have come across some pages for artists which seem to have a huge number of hits compared to the number of friends they have. One band in particular caught my eye - they've had 43000 plus hits in less than a month, but are a rarely-gigging-small-time local covers band. Their page has been closed down twice apparently, so I was wondering if some people were employing some sneaky coding trickery to boost their hits..?

If it's compared to how many friends they have it suggests to me that they request everyone they see as a friend, people check out the request, realise they are shit, and click deny.

Hmm. Yes, I think you have a point. Interestingly, that particular page has just been deleted for, apparently, the 3rd time. Something's surely going on - I've also seen paid job adverts asking for code to boost certain artists' view hits, hence pushing them up the popularity lists on the site. I just wondered how they were doing it.

SO PLEASE DON'T BOTHER SPAMMING ME - WANTING TO BE MY "FRIEND" ... Let's face it - I don't know you, we've never met, you're probably some bird over in America just wanting to drive traffic to your 'cheeky webcam' ...

... or some shit band.

Don't be so 'needy'.

FUCKIN' WIERDO'S

Who I'd like to meet:
NOT YOU ..... YOU'RE TOO UGLY.

but i still get them spammy requests ......
