How much adding url to directories really helps?

I just looked one directory and it seems there wasn't really hits with added links.

who actually uses these sites? are they any use for google? otherwise i wouldn't bother.. never heard of any of them.

Have you ever heard of SEO (search engine optimization)?

And in answer to your question 'who actually uses these sites?' - probably a few hundred thousand webmaster and site developers... needless to say directories and lists of specifically free submission directories are really rather popular!!!

does it really help to submit my site with web directories , i think no one read directories any more , i do not get much traffic from directories to my sites , maybe it help for ranking by listing my links but not traffic
