php uploading question?
I need to create a client area on a site I am working on. The site will have a section devoted to reviews which will be frequently updated. The client will be able to enter the review, image path etc in a form which then needs to post the reviews to the server as xml documents. I've written the php scripts which will create the xml and upload to the server, they're very basic at the moment but they work fine on the apache server I run on my machine. The problem is that I am unsure as to the security issues when deploying this kind of scripting onto the web and what the permission requirments are for the folders the scripts will be writting to? Does anyone know or know of a good place I could get info on this kind of web app? |

I can't help with your question but I was wondering... I'm planning a similar project but I can't seem to get my head round it. Is the data entered into the database as XML or is it created when it's retrieved from the database? Edit: I think writing stuff down helps! It must be created when it's retrieved from the db. Sorry for the attempted thread hijack! That's fuckin' ingenious, if I understand it correctly. It's a Swiss fuckin' watch.
