XML / RSS Recommendations

I have a website that publishes photos with text captions underneath and want to share the content on other sites.

I've considered programming a little viewer window and having the content displayed inside. This could be placed on a blog, whatever. (Reference blogrush.com for an idea of what I mean... just add small photos next to the text posted in a blogrush window)

If you look at the code for Blogrush, it's kind of like Google Adsense.

My questions: It doesn't look like Blogrush uses a typical RSS feed, do you think it's the same concept, but done with proprietary scripting?

If you do an RSS feed for what I'm talking about, can it be "hacked" in any way?

I'm thinking of letting users choose a normal RSS feed OR a little window like Blogrush has. Can these be interchangable, meaning I program for one and it can be used for both somehow?

Thanks for your suggestions
