js browser test? tia

Re: this thread.

The following javascript doodads appear to work perfectly in Safari, Moz/FF Mac and MSIE5 Mac (all on OS X 10.2.8).
Would be grateful to anyone who can test and post results for other OS/browser combos.

I'm on a pc running windows xp.

Works fine on ie6, ie5.5 and ie5. On ie5 the little graphic is under the K of UK through - obviously the padding or margin isn't working but that's extra to these tests I guess.

Mozi 1.4 doesn't seem to want to do anything. No graphic and no opening new windows/tabs.

Netscape 4.7 - doesn't show graphic or open new window/tab.

I'm not really surprised that NN4/IE4/IE3 do nowt as this method is W3C DOM, so beyond their capabilities.
I'm more than happy to write them off.

I'm also not surprised that the popups 'get through' as most popup blockers will allow new windows created by a specific user action (e.g. mouse click) to go through.

Good to know about the image placement problems.
Could possibly correct that by using verbose css attributes, rather than grouping it all into background.
Alternatively, it might require the BMH hack to fix, though that me be going beyond the call of duty.

Moz1.4 is a bit of an odd reaction. Would have thought it would handle it fine.

I'd like to add this to my js functions scrap-book, but I'll might take another look at it to see if I can make it Moz1.4-proof.
Not sure the stats will show it as being worth the additional effort.

Many thanks for the effort, guys.
Much appreciated.

If you think it could be useful to you, of course it goes w/o saying (almost) - help yourself (presuming the northern lad dis'nay mind).
