So Many Ways
php, asp.net, coldfusion, ruby on rails, perl...how many more? Is anyone willing to demystify all this for me? I originally thought I'd learn PERL(didn't know any better), but then I realized it was just too old and limited(or so I think). So I moved on to PHP and am slowly learning. What's to say I won't wake up tomorrow and think I didn't know any better about PHP? What if it's not what I should have spent all the time on learning? I know there's no such thing as future proof, but what's the safest bet if I just want to get going on making dynamic sites? I realize this may be an impossible question, but I'm just looking for some opinions of some experts here. |

Another vote for PHP. It was created in 1994 by one guy and has since become the most popular web development language in the world. It is still in development, and I expect it to be for a long time yet. PHP - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Saying that though there are plenty of higher paid jobs going for ASP.NET developers, but in my opinion the way you have to code certain things is hacky to say the least. It was really created to make the .NET Framework more popular, and to allow programmers to create websites easily using most of their exisiting knowledge about the .NET Framework. |
