Custom Program?
Hi. I'm just not sure where to start... Currently I maintain a parent/teacher resource site that has a bunch of children's activities but I'd like to change the format so that it is set up like "AllRecipes" where people can search a database by categories/keywords and rate activities with comments. Do I need to get a custom program written? I have some experience with php and mysql but figure that this kind of project is beyond my capabilities. Any tips on where to begin? Thanks! |

maybe you might find an answer in utilizing an existing cms, and making your custom modifications to fit your needs. look up some popular cms systems, for example: for php, wordpress, joomla, mambo, phpnuke, etc. there are lots, i hope this helps you find a starting point. happy googling. |

help with it?
Thanks for the point in the right direction. I've checked into Joomla and am testing it out now. Just wondering if there is a good source/company to use that could help me configure it for my needs. I'm pretty busy, so I don't have the time right now to learn it. And I'd like to get something up quickly since traffic has been steadily increasing to the existing site I have. I might be interested in paying someone to set it up for me. Any idea how I should go about finding someone? Any idea how much they would ask for payment? Thanks! |
