All databases are the same basically. For the PC Access is probably the standard, but then there are heavier systems like Oracle, MSSQL Server, and Unix offerings like mySQL for web sites. Perhaps this glass fish is a simple database so easy place to learn, perhaps it is cheaper for the education authorities to buy 30 licences than Access. Don't worry once you understand databases it is just a question of learning the new controls and perhaps more complicated options. |
