Remote modification of e-mail settings
I was wondering if anyone knows how to do this: Some of my clients are, uhm, "technically challenged" so I'd like to be able to remotely change their e-mail settings (I'm offering them hosting services) without them having to go through the steps. I think I've seen somewhere (hosts) that when people click on a link, it will format someone's Outlook/Express with host's info. Can this be done? What about other e-mail programs? |

Just set up a new test mail account, but I'm still not seeing an outlook autoconfig option in the Add/Remove Accounts area. Only options I'm seeing listed are: Delete, Read Webmail, Change Quota, Change Pass It's not appearing in the Mail Manager Main Menu either. Is it possible that the outlook autoconfig is only presented to Windows users (i.e. the facility is not added to the page for non-Windows users)? |

What Oli said. Quote:
My hosting mate says it's the server configuration, nothing to do with your OS. Have a word with your host. That's fuckin' ingenious, if I understand it correctly. It's a Swiss fuckin' watch.

Consider yourself lucky, sb. At least your hosting mate appears to know what he's doing. |
