haha. From personal experience I have to agree with luke about windows being a pretty solid platform for php - at the moment our internal development server is Server 2003 and it's been a rock so far, in fact I can't actually remember it crashing or stalling once. That said, all our live sites are hosted on Solaris boxes and we're moving onto a Solaris development server in the near future as well - not because php is more stable there, but simply because the idea of running Windows servers just brings to mind the thought of hassle and security risks .. which is a pain in the arse. |
