Anyone know if or how I could grab a screenshot of a website with a JS or PHP script? Is this possible? Maybe with the PHP GD Image library?

I'd like to be able to make thumbnails images (like alexa) of websites.

Should be possible with php, don't know how though, would be interesting to learn.

why not use alexa data? theres a web service here

because i need to check the screens in their current state.

alexa screens are about 3 months old, usually.

i want to check a page on about a dozen colo-ed servers to make sure they all have the same content.

i found a command line exe that will do it, but it doesn't work on win 2k/2k3 server.

if i had something like that i could run it in php with exec().
