Uploading via email....

Does any one no were I can find some information on uploading text to a web page via email? I have searched several places and come up empty handed... I would also be willing to pay someone to configure this for me, so if you know how to do this please let me know. Thanks in advance and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey!

Its not a simple thing, for a start you could look at:

http://www.phpclasses.org/browse/package/3324.html

I guess this will send you on your way... all you need to do is validate and move the attached files.

You can do it with Wordpress - don't know if that's any help though...

Personally, I don't get why everyone is saying "this is very hard or impossible to do" ? What's wrong with setting up a script to run on cron every minute checking a specified e-mail address/account and then when a new message is found, do the necessary data extraction and update the website page accordingly.

Yeah, ok so it's not going to be a piece of piss, but it's not *that* hard either. You just need to sit down and decide how the e-mails are going to be formatted for the new content and which pages or database areas get updated when the new content arrives.

There are obvious security implications that need considering too.

The OP had a previous post to this elsewhere in the forum explaining his reasoning behind this method. Something about staff doing remote updates simply etc.
