Flat-file Profiles

Does anyone know of a flat-file PHP script so that users can create profiles similar to the ones on Computerlove.net?
I need one to be used on a college group's website which students on art related courses will be able to use to create an online portfolio.

if you're using PHP why not do it in mysql. it'd be much easier/faster.

I don't find it easy at all. I've installed MySQL many times and each time it has never worked.

What system are you using? If you're using Windows - http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html if you're using Mac, http://serverlogistics.com/mysql.php and if you're using Linux, it's already there.

I tried to use Apache before and absolutely hated it. It was too weird, hard to find where to put things etc.
