Adobe Indesign question?

How would you mark cutting guides, so that printers know where to fold?

I have always used registration marks in the past is this the correct way to present your work?

thats fine for crop edges.
you can draw anyline anywhere to indicate cut/die/edge etc and just use registration as colour choice.

Best to use a special colour not used in the document, make new spot colour name it fold guide, cutter guide etc, I would use a 100 M as this is more noticable but be sure to make it a spot colour so it seperates correctly. Solid lines for cut marks and dotted line for fold marks.

But the Registration colour will seperate as all the colours used in the document and would also therefor overprint, so if you are say using it as a fold guide or a die cut guide then it woud not work properly and the file would have to be fixed before egoing to plate.
