deigital print vs press - difference in quality?

i need to do a small run of high quality booklets. most print houses im talking to will not do a quantity of 250, and it's been suggested that i get them digitally printed instead of using a press.

do you have experience in the one over the other? is press printing noticably better quality?

thanks,

corey

ps: admin: i know this belongs in the print forum, but please dont move it there, as it won't get a response.

it will get a response because most people use the new posts feature sherlock

and digital is pretty bad from what the people at work say, the difference is obvious

Keep looking, there's loads of printers, and you'll always find one that's suited to your needs/budget.

Digital print is ok, but check some examples for yourself, a good printer will be happy to supply samples.

Is that offer for anyone ? I have a couple of print jobs coming up and it'd be nice to get a sample off you.

Agreed!
Shop around, check them out in 3D.
Indigo (Digital) Printing can be more cost effective but I've always found it grainy.
Best to weigh your priorities on the project. Is this a piece you want to stand out in your book? Might be worth the extra investment.

cheers/
