Pre cut stock printing

I did print finishing so I am used to working with large sheets and the printer cutting my work to size from larger paper stock.
But is it possible for a printer to print on stock for paper that is already cut to size? e.g running on pre-cut A6, A5, A4,
I was under the impressing that based on the CMYK presses that are used it was not possible to do print on something that was pre-cut too allow for the grip and slippage when the printing is being done?
Or am I wrong v.confused???

You are right, some digitals can get very close to edge to edge printing on a cut sheet, but litho machines need a grip edge

Thanks Klang, found great stock but the largest size available is 8.5 x 11 inches and I get the feeling that most print studios will not want to work on this scale even with a digital printer. I know that there are a couple of canon machines that can print A3. But, A4 seems a stretch...
