Here are two covers for a new magazine, which one works better?

Also, feedback on how to improve either would be much loved.

Is it a male lifestyle magazine?? The greyscale images is quite masculine, but the colour choice is very feminine?

I don't think the photos draw enough attention. The text also is very distracting, and I don't find it very engaging because it is difficult for me to read. May look better full size, but I think different color choices/combinations for the text would be better. I like the idea of the greyscale image, but find the bright blue, and pink don't go very well. They over power the photo in my opinion.
