Printing My Portfolio
Hey Guys Graduated a while ago and considering relocating to Oz. My current portfolio is balls, so im completely redoing it with up to date work that clients will wont to see rather than the bullshit you churn out in uni which usually was a result of a drunken, stoned late night stuper. I have been using an electronic portfolio which is less than ideal for interviews with employers and my uni one is the standard hulking A1 size which just makes you look like a complete fucktard when trying to squeeze through the office door with it. So I have opted for the more compact A3 size portfolio (much less threatening to the interviewer who is concerned about the arsenal of weaponry which could be consealed in a A1 folio). Basically my question is does anyone know of a good option to print my work off professionaly on some swanky satin paper. Most print companies do things in bulk and will ask a lot of money for one off stuff. I dont really wanna do it myself as I can have someone to shout it if the rollers make the prints dirty, ink gets clotted, print quality is low........etc. So Any Advice/Ideas |

A3 is defo the way to go. Just design yourself some sort of style template and knock out your favourite pieces (or pieces that best suit the potential employers). I did mine on my A3 Epson on high quality glossy paper at home. Seemed to work for me. Wouldn't spend big money on it as potential employers are usually more interested in the concept and approach to the work rather than the finished piece. Good luck... |

Woah, so the Oz people have a huge lack of designers? Im scared of things that kill you though. Back on topic.. I think a small website helps get interviews, and in interviews i would usualy go for A3 too. Try to make yourself seem a little calmer and more polite then your thread writing, that would put people off, lol. |
