Is it possible, in indesign, to have a master template file in which other files are linked back to it?

Such that one file contains the layout of a book, and each sub-section of the book (each having its own separate file) would link its master pages back to the main file.

Such that when you changed the layout/colors of the master file, all subsequently linked files would change...
