silkscreen: are gradients possible?

This is probably a stupid question, but are gradients possible with silkscreening?

Thanks

No.

You can try to get a gradient effect using halftone dots on one of the colours and overprinting.

Or you could try a completely uncontrollable effect by mixing colours on the screen before squeegeeing. Not recommended!

I´ve done it when using a letterpress. Is gets damn messy and needs a lot of cleaning the rolling thingies (have no fucking idea how they are called in English) and the frames. Basically you are creating a gradient by hand.

Getting ink all over everything is half the fun. It still turns up under your toenails months afterwards.

I was gonna say the best bet is fountaining the colors but it's so uncontrolled, unless that's what you're going for, and depending on the silk screener the halftone route may be a decent idea.
