Hey what are the top ten things to remember when designing a magazine?

Like pt sizes for headlines, pt size for body copy, to kern and not to kern. I'm trying to re-design this magazine, and I thought i would do something fresh.

The most important thing and top on the list is a grid.

Something fresh might not involve using the same text format as every other magazine.

You're the designer, you chosse what looks and feels good for your vision of the magazine.

1: Good headline font/s, Contrasting body font and pullout font.
2: Use style sheets!!!!! and object styles, also library
3: Good Hierarchy with story headlines (change in head type size from primary to secondary and so on...
4: Running fluidity of design throughout.
5: Remember the sorter the word length on a column the tighter the leading.

But...... This is basic shit. It all depends how you are designing this mag and what your market is.

ps... But as it has been said in a previous post... the initial creation of the margins and grid is primary!!!
