t-shirt printing and pantone

I´ve finally run into some t-shirt printing. The problem is that as far as I remember when I was 9 years old and went to a t-shirt that they printed the image on some shit and the ironed the image on the fabric.

Probably this piece of crap is going to be printed in large volumes and I´m afraid that it will not be this trivial. I was wondering if they use the pantone system so I could define the colours and be sure of it or they use the hack 'n' slash method (high rez raster image and they are done).

Look for a reputable silkscreen printer.
