Hi All,
So I have been doing all the research I can and I have not found anything to do with high resolution screenshots. Does anyone have any concrete way to create these without having to re-create the screenshots in photoshop, Is there a certain software out there or something? Also I have seen where people said they set a camera up infront of there screen and they got it that way. Has anyone ever tried this or knows if it works?

From what I found there is essentially a limit of creating hi-resolution screen shots, however there seem to be some methods other than re-creating the screen shot.

A screenshot takes a shot of every pixel on your screen... it can't take information that isn't there.

If you want a high resolution shot you can do one of two things: use a fractal plugin but it doesn't work well on screen resolution things generally, or remake the thing from scratch or make it in illustrator in the first place lol

What is it you need screenshots of though, like sites or movies or?

Live trace in illustrator could work if tweaked right, Ive had quite decent results when I was experimenting

It takes a lot of tweaking before and cleaning afterwards but it is possible

lol When you say "a lot" do you mean like several weeks?

If you already know how to prepare the first image and then use the right tracing options it actually goes fairly quickly.

are you on mac or pc?
I think the default for the pc is 96 ppi on the screen and the mac is 72
What you can try is setting your monitor to the highest setting increase the zoom and you MIGHT get a better image. the other thing is to print to a pdf, then work from there.
