It's a nice thing to have - we use CS here with Quark 6 but have been contemplating the move to indesign so we needn't keep forking out for new versions. One upgrade for all three is the wtg (bit of a monopoly though)

I wonder if anyone will ever be able to challenge the might of Adobe....

I think you should be able to match pantone ( and other colour options) within the swatch option panels in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator...

It'll help to have a real idea of what the colours will actually print out like, the way monitors render colours can lead to a few surprises- especially with oranges. I reccomend a swatch book, get a second hand one
