When does a Booklet become a Book?

36pp? 40pp? 80pp? 160pp?

+ how would you describe the differences between a leaflet and a booklet? Would a booklet need Bindings? Cover gsm? a larger No.of pages but how many? would you relate to content type? ...

I am trying to write company literature (yawn) and need a few points clarifying.

Cheers, Limbo

Cheers Mik, just the response I was looking for. If I write oops, queer on all my company literature I think I'll be fine.

As it happens, on a much less useful source than designerstalk, some helpful twat soul pointed out that simply, a leaflet has no bindings, what a nobbed, as if he helped me. Cockrocker.

Don't know about professional stuff, but i know at my book-binding, a booklet is generally accepted to be a section of a book - i.e a pamphlet folded into 16 pages from one large A1/A2 sheet. A book would be made up of these sections sewn together. dunno if that's any help at all.

Straight from the dictionary:

Quote:
Book: A set of written, printed, or blank pages fastened along one side and encased between protective covers.

Booklet: A small bound book or pamphlet, usually having a paper cover.

Leaflet: A printed, usually folded handbill or flier intended for free distribution.
