I've just had to fork out tons on camera gear. Just got a Canon 10d (thought i'd save my money an not go for the 20d just yet, 2mp ain't much of a jump), Canon 24-70mm f2.8 L, Canon 550EX and Elinchrom lights....about £3k in all, I'm now skink! I've just started working with a new photo studio. I'm doing all there wedding photography. Already got a few bookings for this year. I'm not gonna leave here until its more established though. Jase

Never owned one - have a D30 that is now my back up. I've also got some weddings to shoot this year - got 4 definites and a few pending. How much did you pay for your 24-70L? I'm after summut 2.8 with that range, looking at a tamron Di (feels cheap but dead light weight), a few Sigmas (better build but still not up to L standards) and a 24-70L like you have (and the older 28-70L)... tis hard to decide as the canon is so much more expensive but it damn good...hmmm... |

I got it for £850 from 7dayshop.com. I was trying for the 28 - 70 f2.8 L for quite a while they're quite cheap on Ebay and hardly any difference. The Tamron is the better one to go for if you don't get a Canon. Mine's really heavy when its around you neck for the day. Plus battery grip, flash, flash power pack.....etc Jase

yeah i don't want anything too heavy, so the tamron will probably be the one. Might keep an eye out for a used L though. gonna test drive my new camera this weekend - got to visit a venue and a potential clienton saturday morning and have just got some freebie tickets to a car show in the afternoon. |
