Guy at works got a Canon EOS 5 to sell for a couple hundred though, but he may take offers. It is a top end film body though.

1 hr left on this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...6236 958&rd=1 looks a bargain to me.

Plenty cheaper too - http://search.ebay.co.uk/slr_W0QQsoloctogZ9

New SLRs dirt cheap too of course with digital everywhere.

Its a shame that photography course require you to buy an SLR as you can teach the same photography principles with a Canon Ax camera. ISO, Aperature, Shutter Speed, can all be set manually. Plus, its a hell of a lot cheaper film wise But then, its far more satisfying to use an SLR

vivitar

Hiya...
not a vivitar/pentax expert... but I remember this being a competitior to the pentax k1000 (a classic, circa 1980), the k-mount is the screw mount that the old pentax takes so you should be able to pick up a couple of cheap secondhand lenses.

other than that specs are good with ttl metering, ... but should be good to learn on!

The only thing you'll have to chekc is the actual age of the camera... The older zoom lenses where not up to todays standard and most professionals didn't start using them until mid to late 80's...

cheers for that. we didn't get that one in the end.

She ended up with a Canon A1 (recommended by her tutor).
