http://www.pixmania.com/uk/uk/31652/...0.html?srcid=3 We got one a while back and payed about £230 for it, but well worth the dosh. Takes nice pics (videos too) and has an auto mode for the less technical. [edit] though you might want to look around for one with an english manual[/edit] |

The Fuji FinePix S5000 seems to be a good all-rounder and uses the SLR form factor (which is preferable, imho). Pixmania used to do them cheaper than other places, but I'm not sure if they still stock them. Amazon are doing them for around £200. It's on my 'things to buy, but keep forgetting about' list since I had a go on one in a camera shop a while back. It seemed to offer the level of quality I was looking for in my first (semi-serious) digital camera. |

i've got one sitting on the desk in front of me fantastic camera, but from what brown seems to suggest it's for i don't think it's the best option you'd probably be going for one of those little ickle ones you can stick in your pocket.. |

The Canon A70 always got good reviews when I was looking a while back. You should be able to pick one up for under £200 these days. That's fuckin' ingenious, if I understand it correctly. It's a Swiss fuckin' watch.

I would recommend you to check www.dpreview.com - a site which is not compleeeete since it´s a one-man's work, but at least has excellent reviews on last models in the market. another option is bhphoto.com...good luck! Quote:
