You don't need a portfolio right now, agents can tell who is right for them by simple family photos, if you get selected they will do your portfolio for you.

Yeah right! They make a killing on dumb girls who are prepared to hand money over to register with an agency with their various signing on and membership fees. They also charge them to make a portfolio, can be a few hundred quid at least with no guarantee of any work!

My advice is ask around, there are a lot of time-wasters out there.

Professional agencies do NOT ask for money from potential models for registering or for their portfolois, if they do then they should avoid them.

The real deal agencies pull out all the stops and do ALL the ground work, this includes portfolios and employment contracts (not memberships)
There are lots of fly by night agencies who do what you say and the model usually gets no work.

Okay, you're ready to create your portfolio.
What is a model portfolio?
Your model portfolio book will be made up of a book with anywhere between 10 and 25 photos normally consisting of 9x12 prints.
You will want a good selection of different types of "looks" in your portfolio. For example; have some photos created indoors in a home setting, some in the studio, some outdoors in different locations.
Also include shots which may be considered commercial, fashion, casual, and editorial content.
